10 Ways To Brainwash yourself

One of the fundamental truths in life is that reality is a projection that is created inside your head. Therefore, changing your way of thinking can completely transform your entire existence.

So, if you are not living the life that you imagined, if you find yourself dissatisfied with your life, you must realize that it is not the conditions of your environment that determine your happiness, but the way you think.

Therefore, changing your thoughts can change your life!

The Programming Behind Your Thoughts

I would like to show you how to change the way you think and reprogram your thoughts.

But to do that, first, you must understand the three components of your mind.

  • 1. Your Beliefs: Your beliefs are assertions that something exists or is true. The problem with beliefs is that they are often adopted without first questioning their origin or validity.
  • 2. Your Thoughts: Thoughts are ideas or opinions that occur spontaneously in mind. Thoughts may be positive or negative.
  • 3. Your Emotions: Emotions are strong feelings derived from the circumstances surrounding you. Emotions are the basic level responses of your body and mind. Beliefs, Thoughts, and Emotions can be either limiting or empowering. Therefore, by manipulating your beliefs, thoughts, and emotions, you can reprogram your mind.

Here Are 10 Ways To Reprogram Your Thinking


Be Positive and Be Optimistic

Brainwash Tip # 1: Be Optimistic

Whenever a situation arises, look at it as the cup as being half full, rather than half empty. If a stumbling block comes your way, look at it as a lesson in life and how you can use that experience to improve the outcome next time. Rather than dwelling on the negativity, brush it off as a past experience, take a deep breath and move forward towards new experiences. Having a positive outlook on life and experiences will bring more positivity to your life. For example, if you are perpetually looking for the color red, you will find it everywhere. So, if you are looking for negative circumstances, you will undoubtedly find them as well.

By focusing your thoughts on the positive things in your life, and you will suddenly realize that many more good things will seemingly happen to you. It’s not magic, as the more you focus on something, the more mental resources you will have to find it.

Use Positive Daily Affirmations

Brainwash Tip # 2: Use Positive Daily Affirmations

An affirmation is a short and confident statement of perceived truth. Repetitive affirmations have helped thousands of people make significant changes in their lives. An affirmation works by motivating, encouraging, and even reprogramming your mind based on a given idea. Even if the idea behind the affirmation is not true, the important thing is that the person confers the affirmation as being real.

Action Step: Depending on what you desire, repeat an affirmation to yourself at least 30 times a day, silently or out loud. A good affirmation contains "I am" and a statement in a present tense, such as: I am living a happy life and Success is following me everywhere I go.

Exercise Regularly

Brainwash Tip # 3: Exercise Regularly

Physical exercise causes your brain to release a surge of endorphins. These potent feel-good chemicals and neurotransmitters provide a multitude of benefits. These chemicals boost creativity and provide problem-solving ability. It’s no coincidence that some of the world’s smartest and most successful people exercise regularly.

Exercise can transform your life by making you not just healthier, but also happier. Studies have repeatedly proven those who exercise daily enjoy sharper memory, improved focus, reduced stress and anxiety, and a more positive outlook in life.

Action Step: Whenever you feel down about anything and even angry at someone or situation, go for a walk or a swim, or hit the treadmill. You will be amazed at the transformation your mind will make. Your negative thoughts and feelings will no longer be occupying your mind and instead, you might have a solution on how to deal with a current issue you are facing.

Get Enough Sleep

Brainwash Tip # 4: Get Enough Sleep

If you want to reprogram your thoughts, the more you sleep, the better. The optimal amount of sleep is between 7 and 9 hours each night, depending on what works best for each person. Sleeping any less than 6 hours could potentially limit the power of your mind. A full night’s sleep can improve your memory, mood, and increase your ability to make sound decisions.

Action Tip: If getting a full nights's sleep is not possible due to life's situations, such as having a baby, or getting an interrupted sleep due to other circumstances, take a short 5 to 10 minute nap. Napping will boost brain power and even elevate your mood.

Learn Something New

Brainwash Tip # 5: Learn Something New

Do something cool for yourself in 2020! Leverage your spare time by learning a new skill. Acquiring a new skill doesn't have to take a long time either. Learning restructures your brain’s neural pathways (neuroplasticity). So, if you are looking to reprogram your thoughts, the process of learning something new can do a lot for you.

Even 15 minutes per day, dedicated to learning something new, can help you reprogram thoughts and enhance your mental cognition.

Action Tip: There are literally countless things you can learn to do. Some examples are: Learn to draw or Paint, Pick Up New Photography skills, try Gardening, Woodworking, learn a new language, take a writing class...

Visualize

Brainwash Tip # 6: Visualize

Try to “see” with your mind’s eye the things that you really want in your life. It doesn’t matter if it is an object, a person, an emotional state, or a set of circumstances. The key is to visualize it.

Visualizing causes tangible results in a very short time. Whether your goals are short or long-term, visualizing them daily is an effective and time-efficient way to reprogram your thoughts towards achieving those goals.

Action Tip: Some people might think visualizing is not easy. But it simpler than you think. All you have to do is think of a word and your mind immediately starts looking for associated imagery. To make it even simpler, write a short sentence of whatever you desire. Example: "I just logged into my bank account, there is $5,000 cash in my account." Reading that sentence allows you to visualize a specific state which tricks your mind into thinking it is the reality, since your subconscious can't differentiate what you see in front of you and what you visualize, as true reality.

Self-Hypnosis

Brainwash Tip # 7: Self-Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a proven technique that allows people to reprogram their subconscious to change unwanted behaviors. It has been a documented and proven technique since the 1950s. It facilitates therapeutic learning by strengthening self-esteem and motivation.

With Self-Hypnosis, you can do it yourself without having to go to costly hypno-therapists. Self-Hypnosis is fail-proof method which allows you to put yourself into a hypnotic state and then use that state to improve your life in myriad ways. And because the hypnotic state is induced while you read, you remain aware of your surroundings and can bring yourself back to normal consciousness slowly and gently, using specific instructions. You can use it to stop a bad habit, such as smoking, drinking alcohol, nail biting, lose unwanted weight, even to attract more wealth into your life.

Brainwash Tip # 8: Meditate

Meditative techniques have been proven to decrease anxiety and increase productivity and overall well-being. It is not a coincidence that the most successful entrepreneurs in the world swear by meditation and constantly expound its benefits.

Meditating regularly increases all your cognitive functions and enhances your ability to concentrate and focus.

Action Tip: Here is a simple meditation to reset your thoughts and settle your emotions.

  • Set up a timer for at least 5 minutes.
  • Sit or lie in a comfortable position.
  • Close your eyes and imagine you are on a beach or your favorite quite spot.
  • Breath slowly. Inhale through your nose (for 4 seconds) by filling your diaphragm, then exhale slowly through your mouth (for about 8 seconds).
Repeat this meditation practice daily in 5 minute increments to start, and then slowly increase to 10 and 15 minute periods.

Brainwash Tip # 9: Get Rid of Intrusive Thoughts

Unwanted thoughts and images plague every person on this planet. The problem is that sometimes these “intrusive” thoughts can be distressing or disturbing. Their mere presence suggests that you are not in control of your mind, and thus they must be eliminated if you want to reprogram the way you think.

These thoughts, however, are only thoughts. The easiest way to rid your mind of these thoughts is to accept them as soon as they arrive and allow them to pass through. Avoid dwelling on them. No matter how upsetting they are, never permit your emotions to attach themselves to these thoughts.

Traditionally, bad thoughts are treated with medication. However, medication will not solve the underlying issue and will only mask the problem. Just recognize that these are thoughts only and have no desire to act on them, intrusive thoughts aren’t harmful.

Action Tip: You might think its easier said then done. But, you can replace negative thoughts with opposite positive thoughts. If negative thoughts are in form of anger, take a few pieces of paper and begin writing what upsets you and angers you the most. If you are upset at a particular person, write them a letter. When you are done, throw away the letter or burn it. You will be amazed at how much weight will be lifted off your shoulders.

I also recommend reading 90 Seconds to a Life You Love by Dr. Joan Rosenberg. In her book, she spells out a strategic and practical guide on building core emotional strength, reducing anxiety, and developing the confidence you need to create a life of your design -- a life you love.

Dr. Rosenberg teaches readers to be aware, consciously lean into, and balance these unpleasant emotions by riding one or more 90-second waves of the bodily sensations. By staying present to these 8 feelings, we cultivate the confidence that we can handle life's challenges and the deep sense we can pursue whatever we want.

Brainwash Tip # 10: Learn To Live In The Moment

Living In the moment rewires your mind to consider only the present. Past failures and mistakes stop haunting you, and the uncertain future stops oppressing you. This means that your mind becomes primed and empowered for change because the present is ever-changing and is a positive influence.

Appreciate the small things in life that make you happy. Again looking at #1, look at the glass helf full, not half empty. Remind yourself how many unfortunate people are out there and be grateful for all the blessings in your life.

Action Tip: Go for a walk and enjoy the outdoors. Look in the mirror and simply smile at yourself. Make someone feel good by doing something special for them. Volunteer. Get out and surround yourself with new people. Write down on a piece of paper at least 10 things you are grateful in your life. Repeat daily. If you skip a day or two, its not the end of the world. Simply continue when you remember.
